Guys do yourself a favour and report this to google, other than just reporting it in game itself. I'm pretty sure these stingy devs will not undo their decision to revert progess, as they only care about the money. If sufficient people actually report this to google, google might take action against them.

It's probably legal (lol did you bother to read the EULA?) as long as they compensate paying customers. Otherwise, the customers will initiate charge backs on their cc.

I'm not a lawyer, and I haven't even read the EULA myself. EULAs exist in large part to protect the company in cases like this. If you don't believe me, feel free to dump money at a lawyer and get them to sue VS.
